Farewell Dec 5
Farewell
Farewell to the beginning, when it was all shiny and new
Running on empty and motherly intuition
Farewell to the baby face, chubby cheeks and dirty hands
Running around chasing after you
Farewell to the childish little voice and the rambling conversations
Run on sentences that I wish I could listen to in that tiny little voice
Farewell to the days of excitement over shopping for school supplies and chubby crayons
Running to the store to get exactly what you needed and whatever you wanted most
Farewell to the dreaded middle school days full of drama and angst
Running away from it all just for a moments peace
Farewell to the High School days, tests and homework, dances and proms, college tours, graduation, friends and sleepovers
Running away, in denial, that it is all coming to an end
Farewell to you as you drive away, off to your new adventure
Running away with tears in my eyes
Farewell, 12 × 12”, Resin, Monotype print, Collage, mixed media on cradled wood panel
