Twigs and Things

Twigs and things, I gather on our morning strolls

I gingerly place each in my pocket like little treasure

I collect as souvenirs from our walks

this time spent with you is precious, time I can’t replace

for it is a reminder to slow down, enjoy

even the twigs and things

PS - True story! My neighbors must think me so strange collecting twigs and things each morning on my walks. In all honesty, I admit I do have a fascination with them and truly think of leaves and such as little treasures to be used in my artwork. Now we can enjoy these little treasures each day from the warmth of our couch.
