Time Well Spent

A reminder to pause, take a breath, enjoy the little things.

Let yourself linger in the ordinary, in the stillness, for it is in those moments that the magic happens.

The summer of 2022 was a complete blur! It was the first few months in our new home.

Sadly, I was focused on unpacking our life and just trying to settle in rather than enjoying it.

However, this summer, the summer of 2023 I was able to enjoy the lazy days of summer and what a difference it made!

Summer is usually the time of year I long await because it is the time that I get to spend days on end, no real set schedule, just being with my two children. No alarm clocks to tend to, no rushing around for this and that. It is truly a time to recharge, a time to be “still”. I get to   enjoy my children and see them for all that they have become over the months of rushing around. I finally get to observe all that growing they sneakily did right under my nose while we were busy during the school year.

This summer I got to thoroughly enjoy my beautiful children and my new front porch, I have always dreamt of having a house with a porch like this. The first thing I did this year, I bought a bunch of hanging baskets and hung Boston Ferns all up and down the porch! It felt so quaint. It felt so special. It felt so STILL as we sat on the porch and listened to the wind chimes and watched the ferns sway in the breeze.

My favorite part, getting to listen to the laughter of my children for another summer.
